Background

Ízaro Films was a company based in Madrid that gained popularity thanks to the production and distribution of low-budget comedy and exploitation films. They were, among other things, the exclusive distributors of Cannon Films in Spain. In 1997, the company ceased business (apparently their last distributions were the films Buddy and Gattaca), and the rights of their own productions belong to Manga Films, and the Cannon library to the Spanish section of MGM. StudioCanal currently has worldwide rights to First Blood, a film they distributed for Carolco Pictures. Check imdb for more details [here].

1st Logo (1980s?-1997)

Logo: We see a live-action island (Izaro island, in Bermeo, Basque Country) filmed in different angles. The last angle (a front view with a zoom-in) is accompanied by the name of the company in gold, carved letters. Sometimes, the word "PRESENTA" would appear just below the name in a Far West-like font.

Technique: A mix of live-action and fading effects.

Music/Sounds: A dramatic, adventurous fanfare which seems to be taken from somewhere else.

Availability: Ultra rare. It appears on TV sometimes when one of Ízaro's productions is aired. It may appear on original Spanish-dubbed prints of First Blood (El acorraladoin Spain).
