Background

2929 Entertainment is an American entertainment company co-founded by billionaire entrepreneurs Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban in 2002.

1st Logo (July 14, 2002-January 2003)

Visuals: There is a sidewalk with 4 square quarters split drawn in chalk. On the top left, there is "29"; on the top right, there is another "29"; on the bottom, there is "ENTERTAINMENT" with "A" overlapping the split line.

Technique: A live-action photograph.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Star Search from 2002-2003.

2nd Logo (January 2003-March 4, 2005)

Visuals: On a black background, a circle spins. The circle is split into 4 quarters, with gray on the top left and bottom right, and blue on the top right and bottom left. The words "2929 PRODUCTIONS" or "2929 ENTERTAINMENT" appear in front of it as the circle stops spinning. Then the byline "A 2929 ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY" or "A WAGNER/CUBAN COMPANY" appears below it.

Variant: A rare prototype animated version exists on some movies. In this version, it starts with a gradient blue/grey background shrinking into a circle, while a black circle grows, forming a ring. A thin cross with dots on its points appears and briefly splits in two. The ring wipes out as the top right and bottom left sections of the hole are filled in grey, and the edge of each section is outlined in blue. They rotate 270 degrees clockwise as "29" flashes twice. The sections wipe out as "2929" and then " ENTERTAINMENT" fade in. The cross splits itself again, the 4 quarters in the normal version wipe in, and the byline "A WAGNER/CUBAN COMPANY" zooms out. The dots glow in a clockwise manner, and the logo fades out.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None. The animated version uses a quiet, dramatic string theme with beeping sounds.

Availability: Seen on Star Search from 2003-2005, as well as some movies by this company, like Bubble, World's Fastest Indian and Godsend.

3rd Logo (2004)

Visuals: On a black background, there is the skyline of Dallas, Texas - where 2929 is located - in gold. Buildings like Comerica Bank Tower, Harwood Center, and the Reunion Tower can be seen. In front of the Reunion Tower are the golden words "2929 ENTERTAINMENT" and the byline "A WAGNER/CUBAN COMPANY" underneath it.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The opening theme of the trailer.

Availability: Only seen on the trailer for Godsend (the final film uses the previous logo).

4th Logo (October 7, 2005)

Visuals: There is "2929 ENTERTAINMENT" written in some Wild West font, and arranged in a curve between two lines. It resembles the signboard for a saloon. The byline "A Wagner/Cuban Company" is below.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Only seen on Good Night and Good Luck.

5th Logo (April 28, 2006-)

Visuals: On a black background, "2929" appears slowly. Then a flash suddenly appears, causing the word "PRODUCTIONS" to appear, then the byline "A 2929 ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY" or "A WAGNER/CUBAN COMPANY" fades in below it. The logo then shines.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: An ominous synth note with a whoosh when the flash appears. The opening theme of the movie may play over it.

Availability: It was first seen on Akeelah and the Bee.
