1st Logo (October 17, 2000-November 16, 2004?)

Logo: We see a DVD disc in the center of the screen with "3rd Sector" on it, with two green beams of light coming from it. Over it is this text:

DVD compression, menu design, and
authoring services provided by:

3rd Sector Entertainment

Manhattan Beach, CA

www.3rdsectorent.com

Variant: Select DVDs have the text "It's a Secret Studios" alongside the main text. This can be seen on the 2004 DVDs of The Cooler and the first season of Home Movies.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Rare, as this logo only appeared on a few known releases.

  • The first known release with this logo was the 2000 DVD of Annabelle's Wish.
  • This appeared on some pre-2006 Artisan/Lionsgate releases, such as the first two Cube films, The Cooler, and Cabin Fever.
  • It also appears on most early Shout! Factory releases, such as the first season of Home Movies.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (May 31, 2005?-2007?)

Logo: We see the previous logo on a background with things happening. "Menu Design" in blue then wipes in next to the logo. Three rings appear, followed by the text "Encoding & Authoring" next to the logo. The rings appear again, followed by "3rd Sector Entertainment" appearing on the top right corner of the logo, with "It's a Secret Studios" under it. The company's web address and their location appear under the logo.

FX/SFX: The background animation, the rings, the text appearing.

Music/Sounds: A low hum plays all throughout, while two bleeps are heard when the rings appear.

Availability: Rarer than the previous logo, as it appeared on fewer (known) releases.

  • Seen on most Shout! Factory releases of the era, including the second and third seasons of Home Movies and volume one of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

Editor's Note: None.
