Background

44 Blue Productions is a television company that was founded in 1984.

1st Logo (February 9, 1985-1992)


Visuals: On a blue gradient background, there is "44 BLUE PRODUCTIONS" in a stenciled font tilted to the left with a copyright stamp underneath.

Variants:

  • There exists a later version where the logo is in a purple color scheme.
  • A superimposed variant exists where it also includes the company's place of origin on the bottom right (San Francisco).

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: This was on Bob Eucker's Wacky World of Sports and Great Moments in College Bowl History.

2nd Logo (1995-2002)


Visuals: On a water background, there is "44" and "BLUE" with a shiny texture zoom out from the right and left respectively. When they've stopped zooming out, the water background fades to black and then "PRODUCTIONS" in white fades in. Meanwhile, "44 BLUE" is masked to show a portion of the water background.

Variant:

  • A short variant exists with the logo already formed.
  • On Special Report: Journey to Mars, the logo is superimposed into the last shot of the end credits before the background fades to black.

Technique: CGI overlayed on live-action footage.
