Background
This is Dottie Dartland Zicklin's vanity card. The company name is a reference to surfing, one of Dartland's passions.
1st Logo (September 24-November 12, 1997)
Visuals: On a black background is a sky blue surfboard with magenta lines on it. Above the surfboard is the text "4 TO 6 FOOT PRODUCTiONS".
Technique: A still, computerized graphic.
Audio: A Malibu-style slide guitar riff with a surfer shouting "It's 4 to 6-foot!" Sometimes, it's silent.
Availability: Seen on the first eight episodes of season 1 of Dharma and Greg.
2nd Logo (November 19, 1997-March 28, 2012)
Visuals: There is a colorful drawing of a surfer (with a black shirt and a red mullet) surfing a huge wave, moving from left to right. The background, which quickly gets engulfed by the wave, contains a red mountain and a purple sky with a red and gold smiling sun. Underneath the water are the words "4 To 6 FOOT" written in bubbles, and underneath that are "PRODUCTiONS" in regular letters. There are also urchins, starfishes, and kelp. As the surfer goes out of view, the camera pans downward to the letters, where a couple of fish swim toward them.
Variant: On Are You There, Chelsea?, the logo's colors look washed out.
Technique: Stop-motion 2D animation.
Audio: Same as the previous logo.
Audio Variants:
- On Are You There, Chelsea?, a splashing wave is heard.
- ABC and NBC airings used their generic themes.
Availability: Seen on Dharma and Greg starting with S1 E9 as well as season 2, and Are You There, Chelsea?.
