Background

51 Pictures (formerly Brass Ring Entertainment) was the production company of Cris Abrego, founded in 2001 while he was working at Bunim/Murray Productions. In 2004, the company merged with Mark Cronin's Mindless Entertainment to create 51 Minds Entertainment, although Abrego and Cronin kept their independent companies alive until 2008.

1st Logo (August 5-September 2, 2001)


Logo: We see a 3D brass ring and the brass words "Brass Ring Entertainment" below it on a black background. The logo shines, with a white ball of light also shining on the ring.

Technique: CG effects.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: Only seen on the short-lived USA Network series Cannonball Run 2001.

2nd Logo (January 9-February 20, 2003)

Logo: On a black background, a brass ring flies by and creates the brass words "BRASS RING ENTERTAINMENT". The logo slowly zooms in.

Technique: CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: Only seen on season 1 of The Surreal Life.

Logo: The number "51 " flips onto the screen, and then "PICTURES " enters letter-by-letter in the same way. A curvy black line slides downwards off the screen. The screen that holds "51 " imitates an old countdown screen. The background does the same thing.

Technique: CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: The noise of an old projector and an old-timey jingle that plays in the background.

Availability: Uncommon. Seen on the WB (season 2)/VH1 (seasons 3-6) era of The Surreal Life and season 1 of Charm School (titled Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School).
