1st Logo (1989-1991)

Logo: On a blue-black gradient background, we see the 1987 A&E Cable Network logo. Above it is the text "In Association with the" in the Korinna font.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None or the end theme of the show.

Availability: Rare. Can be seen on An Evening at the Improv.

2nd Logo (1991-1993)


Logo: Same as last few seconds of the A&E ident, but with the text "This has been presentation of" or "In association with" written in Impact on the symbol.

Technique: The last few seconds of the 1991 A&E ident.

Music/Sounds: The A&E jingle at the time or the ending theme.

Availability: Found on pre-1993 episodes of An Evening at the Improv.

3rd Logo (1993-1996)


Logo: It's the last few seconds of the then-current A&E ID from 1993 shown over a murky background. Sometimes, the text says "THIS HAS BEEN A PRESENTATION of" or "IN ASSOCIATION with" appears above the A&E logo.

Technique: Same as the closing variant from the A&E Home Video logo.

Music/Sounds: The final three notes from the A&E "Time Well Spent" bumpers from the era.

Availability: Used for later episodes of An Evening at the Improv and some episodes of Biography.

4th Logo (1996-2000)


Logo: On a spotlight background, we see the text "THIS HAS BEEN A PRESENTATION OF" that pans down, and we reveal the A&E logo from the era. Sometimes, the network's slogan, or a copyright stamp appears below the logo.

Technique: CGI, based on the 1995 graphic package.

Music/Sounds: Two string notes that precede another orchestral version of the A&E jingle. The theme was composed by Larry Groupe.

Availability: Found on programs from the period, like Live by Request.

5th Logo (2000-2003)


Logo: On a black background, we see a blue tinted photo of the A&E logo that rotates to the camera. On it is the text "THIS HAS BEEN A PRESENTATION OF". As the A&E logo spins, a blue version of the A&E logo fades in behind it.

Technique: CGI, based on the A&E station IDs.

Music/Sounds: A choir theme with some singing.

Availability: Seen on several A&E original movies from the era.

6th Logo (2003-2007)

Logo: On a black background, we see a gold A&E version of the logo that faces to a head view.

Variant: Sometimes, when the A&E logo faces head view, the text "In association with" is shown above it.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: The end theme of the movie.

Availability: Rare. Seen on several A&E programs from the era.

7th Logo (2007-2008)

Logo: On a black background, a blue gradient version of the A&E logo zooms out revealing there are more blue trails behind the logo. The logo then shines.

Technique: Computer animation.

Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Rare. Can be seen on A&E shows from the era, like the miniseries remake of The Andromeda Strain.

8th Logo (2008-2011)

Logo: On a black background, we see yellow dots that form and then the light flashes to form the then-new A&E logo, which resembles the last logos, but only this time the ampersand symbol is bigger.

Technique: Computer animation.

Music/Sounds: A series of fast-paced drum beats.

Availability: Rare. Can be seen on Strange Days with Bob Saget, among other A&E shows.

9th Logo (2011-2015)

Logo: A light flashes, which then dies down, revealing the current A&E logo shown on a grey spotlight.

Technique: Computer animation.

Music/Sounds: A whoosh sound.

Availability: Rare. Can be seen on several A&E shows from the era, like the remake of Coma, and the first season of Bates Motel.

10th Logo (2015-2020)

Logo: On a spotlight, we see the blue ampersand symbol, then it morphs to a blue version of the A&E logo.

Technique: Computer animation.

Music/Sounds: Same as before.

Availability: Seen on later episodes of Bates Motel, and other shows from the era.

11th Logo (2020-)

Logo: On a red gradient background, we see the A&E logo wipe in, followed by the A&E logo appearing on a spotlight, and finally the same A&E logo shown in black on a white background.

Technique: Computer animation.

Music/Sounds: Beeping sounds, followed by some piano notes, ending in a clang.

Availability: Current. Seen on A&E originals from the period, like Hoarders.
