Background

This is Arthur Smith's production company that was formed in 2000. In 2011, A. Smith & Co. merged with the Tinopolis Group.

(June 18, 2003-)

Visuals: On a blue background with circles, we see a cartoon TV with a plug and a blue monitor going right with the letters coming out one-by-one "A SMITH" and "CO." Then, the same TV with "&" inside the monitor zooms in, and the word "PRODUCTIONS" appears.

Variants:

  • Starting with in 2016, "a Tinopolis company" appears with a red square with three, white straight lines.
  • Sometimes, the "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" word is above the logo.
  • An enhanced version is currently used since 2009, where everything is in a purple tint and has a slightly smoother animation.
  • A slightly longer version exists with the TV sliding from the right side of the screen to the left (while up close) and then continuing as normal.
  • In 2018, the logo is more enhanced for the animation.
  • On Ellen's Next Great Designer, the byline appears to be cut-off.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: An orchestral hit with typing sounds. This was performed by A. Smith and Co. co-founder Kent Weed.

Audio Variants:

  • ABC, NBC, and Fox used a generic theme.
  • Sometimes, an orchestral hit is omitted.

Availability: It can be seen on its reality shows and documentaries that they produced such as Hell's Kitchen, American Ninja Warrior, Kitchen Nightmares, Paradise Hotel, The Swan, and Skating With Celebrities, among others.
