Background

AB2 Digital Pictures, originally Impact Pictures, is a Canadian independent film production company founded in 2001 by Jeremy Bolt and Paul W. S. Anderson. Aside from Anderson's film projects (including the Resident Evil film series), the company has also been involved in a number of TV and independent productions.

1st Logo (September 10, 2004)

Visuals: Against a brown-green-blue gradient sky, the Davis-Films logo flies in. The text on the rhombus is already there. A second, solid rhombus with the word "IMPᐱCT" and the word "CANADA" below is conjoined to the rhombus.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The opening theme.

Availability: Seen only on Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

2nd Logo (September 7, 2006-September 25, 2009)

Visuals: There is a lightbulb in the dark. The screen fades into more closer shots of it, as it starts lighting up. Then a moth flies to the lightbulb, and gets zapped by the lightbulb while it surrounds with swirling sparks as close-ups of the action are shown. Later on, there is the same lightbulb with bloodmarks making the words "IMPACT PICTURES" on it. The camera gets a bit far from the lightbulb as it flashes brighter.

Variant: A print version exists on closing credits, which is merely the name in two lines.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Sounds of the action, mostly zapping and the lightbulb being touched, and a camera flash sound when the lightbulb flashes.

Availability: The full version was seen on DOA: Dead or Alive (2006) and non-US prints of Pandorum. The closing version appears on Resident Evil: Extinction and Pandorum; on the latter, the closing version shares the screen with the Overture Films and Constantin Film logos.

3rd Logo (September 10, 2010-January 27, 2017)

Visuals: In space, a silhouette of a planet appears. The camera zooms out to reveal the full planet, as well as the text "I M P A C T P I C T U R E S".

Variants:

On Pompeii, it has the word "POMPEII" added below the logo.
On Resident Evil: Afterlife, the entire text is replaced by "DᐱᐯIS FILMS" and "IMPᐱCT CᐱNᐱDᐱ", both in the same font as the former logo.
On Resident Evil: Retribution, the text is in the same font used by Impact Pictures and "PICTURES" replaces "CANADA".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The opening theme of the movie, or silence.

Availability: Seen on The Three Musketeers (2011), Pompeii (2014) and the Resident Evil films from Afterlife to The Final Chapter.

Logo (December 18, 2020)

Visuals: On a black background, two rounded edges form a circle which then gets thicker. The edge of a "b" and an "a" then form on top of each other, much like in the ABC Pictures Corporation logo. As they position themselves on their sides, the words "DIGITAL" and "PICTURES" then draw themselves below the "a" and "b", respectively. A small "2" (possibly a squared symbol) appears on the top-right corner of the "b".

Variant: The print logo can be seen scrolling in the end credits of the film, with "DIGITAL" and "PICTURES" on a different font, bigger, and stacked on top of each other.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The opening theme of the movie.

Availability: So far, only seen on Monster Hunter.
