Background

The APF Imagination Machine is a gaming console and home computer system manufactured by APF Electronics Inc. built to compete with the Atari 2600.

(November 1979-Early 1980s)

Logo: On a black background, the letters "apf" in a heliotrope, marigold, and teal color are above a green box that reads:

TV MICRO-COMPUTER
COPYRIGHT APF1978

Underneath it is the word "basic" with a white bar underneath.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Ultra rare. Seen when you start up an APF MP-1000.

Legacy: This is possibly the first video game console startup screen.
