AVID currently boasts more than 15,000 articles. While we always welcome expansion and new entries to the database, keep in mind that not every logo, bumper or screen deserves its own entry. If that were the case then we wouldn't have any way to keep track of it! Therefore, we have compiled a list of guidelines of what entry should be included in our database.
General guidelines
A company or studio must fulfill one of the following:
- Has one of their releases screened theatrically.
- Has one of their releases screened in a festival.
- Has an official distributor.
- Has one or more physical releases.
- Has one of their releases aired on television or a paid service.
- Has news coverage of either the company, their logo, or one of their releases.
- Personal blogs and comments do not count as notable news coverage.
- Has been referenced in more than three books or pieces of literature.
- Has one of their releases nominated for and/or won at least one award.
- Has one of their releases funded by the government or at least three companies.
- Has one of their releases downloaded at least 500,000 times.
Entries that are exempt from these guidelines include bumpers/television IDs of television stations, commercial tags, cinema trailers, test cards, leaders and slates.
Special cases
