AVID:Requests for Comment/Citations Needed: Citation Referendum

Today I was looking through the Nickelodeon Ident's page, to look for if there was an artist listed for the famous Nicktoons Blob Ident from the 90s. I had sampled it for a song which I was releasing. There isn't, but in alue of that I saw the written portion on the now-newly-named "Technique" section. All it said was "CGI from Blue Sky Studios.".

Considering the communities recent push to be more 'professional sounding', which I am a fan of, there are several problems to me regarding how this is written. Blue Sky, as a company, no longer exists, and is also folded into Disney's own in-house studio, which more focuses on their internal body of work and not previous ones. That means that I can't really look for Production Highlights on an official site, but that can be fine if there is something to verify this claim. The problem, at least as I have written this, is that I have not found this claim to be true from a source that can verify the claim. The closest I've gotten was a Wikipedia citation, which led to a official Nickelodeon Youtube video that was a reedit of the original ident for it's NickRewind block. The video is Set for Kids, meaning there isn't any official comment to look at from Nickelodeon, nor is there a mention of this one the video. This is a possible example of 'Link rot', albeit through a intentional decision and on a booming platform. My point is that I have not been able to verify a claim like this.

I know many people here saw the recent Defunctland video regarding the Disney Channel theme, I have yet to fully watch it, but I have seen a good chunk of it. I do know the wiki was mentioned and that the site did bring a decent help into finding the composer and directly got right the companies involved. However as you may recall, he had to first find more evidence about this to confirm if they were the company, leading to a youtube video from a channel from the company/composer and official sites by the companies that list Disney as one of their clients. The citation system, as small as it is, would be more quickly helpful towards one trying to verify info like this instead of simply text and word of mouth by people with much free time, or for people really intent, intense searching and digging up. If a system like this is implemented, it should also go with a system of archived citations, to avoid url/link rot.

My thinking is that a citation system would go a long way to not only preserve history, but to have proper backups of claims and sourced evidence of claims that can be made from the AVID writers in the Technique, and Music/Sound sections. This could possibly even help provide evidence towards Availability, as right now it is based off of a guess/estimation of how frequent, infrequent, rare, or 'extinct' on TV or other media you can buy now is. Certain variant or particular instances can be cross referenced with a citation, to provide evidence of its existence (Ex: "this logo can be found on the DVD of Season 3 of X.", a citation could url to a video showcasing a recording or rip of said claim, to verify).
