Implement the Moderation extension

More info here: [1]

In other words, newly registered users will have their edits monitored by moderators before it can go live in mainspace. IMO it works better than our current draft system (but we can still keep the drafts tho). A mod can mark a user as "automoderated" so their edits can go live without moderation.

This also means vandals who vandalize to be seen (i.e. PBSA, Caidin, Soby etc) would be discouraged even more. The other top Miraheze wiki, All The Tropes, started implementing this extension and their vandal numbers went down by a LOT.

What do you think? Logohub (talk) 09:20, 27 February 2023 (UTC)

  1. Support This sounds like an effective approach in dealing with vandals and socks rather than having to revert/allow them to get away with their edits every time. Since the admin/mod list has grown a lot over the past several months, this also feels like the right time to implement this extension as there are more people who keep the wiki stable from people like the users you have mentioned. Rather than the micromanagement of 'automoderated', it may be simpler to merge that right into 'autoconfirmed'. This minimizes inconvenience to regular users while having the review aspect for newly registered ones. You could take it a step further and micromanage that right or merge it with 'autopatrolled' but that will become unpopular rather quickly I believe. The other aspect to consider is that for its scale, ATT has a relatively low editorship. The thriving editorship here should be kept in mind and the workload of staff minimized when not needed.--Raidarr (talk) 13:32, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
