AVID:Requests for Comment/Remove credits from pages

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Hi, and this is my first RfC. One thing I've noticed is that the page credits (which were a holdover from the pre-Wetpaint days) have gotten less relevant and more of a relic over time. They're hardly updated (one notable exception was when we updated Jess Williams' credit to remove their deadname), and I'm pretty sure they only represent a few of the users who edited there in most cases. Besides, we're probably the only wiki that does this (you don't see, say, Wikipedia doing page credits).

And that's why I think the page credits should go. What do you think? · Talk · Edits 04:50, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

The credits do have at least one important role, which is to preserve attribution for older articles made on prior incarnations of the site where editing logs may have since been lost due to platforms going defunct. Talk · Edits 05:01, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
