Sorry for coming here. I need you to change your name because your name plagiarized Avid Corporation. It manufactures tools. Please change it to a much better name.

Support Even though I really like the AVID name and is my preferred option to the original CLG Wiki, I always thought we could go one step further into differentiating ourselves from AVID the technology company, by naming it "AVIDb", similar to "IMDb", which similarly means "Internet Movie Database". That's the only reason I'd want to rename it. Otherwise, the Audiovisual Identity Database (AVID) name is awesome.

1. Oppose in the world because A: we're just getting used to the AVID name, B: what other names do you have in mind? Going back to CLG Wiki is out of the question, and C: the name "AVID" is not a plagiarism of Avid Corporation's name. I doubt that Avid the tool manufacturer would even file a lawsuit (assuming they'd even know of our existence) given that our purpose is very different from the tool manufacturer; there are many cases of different companies having the same name (for instance, DC the comic brand and DC the shoe brand). · Talk · Edits 13:20, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

3. Oppose in the universe. Our name does not infringe on Avid's trademark because it's for something unmistakeably different (they do video editing tools, we do audiovisual logos). A great similar example would be Linux detergent in Switzerland, which, while sharing its name with the far more famous OS kernel, doesn't violate its trademark as it's for detergent, not computer software.
