Audiovisual Identity Database:Requests for Comment/Show intro wiki - Deciding on its name

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Now with the rfc for a spinoff wiki about show/film intros and outros having passed, it's time for the community to decide on its new name! We have compiled a list of names below for you to vote. If you want to add your own proposals for a different name, please feel free to do so as long as you maintain the format of "Proposal X (NAME)" and follow it with a support, abstain, oppose, and comment section.

Archive of Credits and Titles (ACAT)

Support

  1. Support Simple, catchy sounding, lines up with AVID well due to both AVID and ACAT having their names begin with "A". Logoarto (talk) 05:43, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  2. Support This has been my go to ever since it was proposed. Maintains the tie to AVID with the similar name but doesn't force that idea too much. Massive Support. EMG/Ram (She/They) (Let's Chat!) 05:45, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  3. Support per Logoarto. Plus, since multiple other companies are using it (similar to AVID), that name wouldn't be as specific. And it even connects well with the name AVID in that it starts with the word "Archive", like how AVID's full name ends in "Database". · Talk · Edits 05:48, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  4. Support per Logoarto. Like AVID, it also has a four-letter acronym that makes it simple. 08:41, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

  7. Support I dig how catchy this one is. D'animation Studios (talk) 17:21, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  8. Support On top of that the mascot should be a cat. 18:54, 9 June 2024 (UTC)

So what's your reasoning for why you opposed? (For the record, I personally prefer OSCA over ACAT.) · Talk · Edits 05:14, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

  1.  Comment: I think it's about time we closed this now, especially with OSCA already being declared the winner on Discord. · Talk · Edits 09:01, 14 June 2024 (UTC)

Opening Sequences and Closings Archive (OSCA)

Support

  1. Support The acronym for a site about film/television closings and openings being OSCA? That's a pretty sweet nod to the awards, filmmaking history in general as well. I also think it stands out more next to Avid, while also pronouncing a word in the process. (Talk to me, idk.) 05:54, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  2. Support per TechBlitz. If ACAT fails, that's the name I'm backing. And hey, it'd lend itself nicely to a potential mascot named Oscar. · Talk · Edits 05:58, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  3. Support my backup for if ACAT snowballs into a failure. EMG/Ram (She/They) (Let's Chat!) 06:19, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  4. Support Better sounding than ACAT in my opinion. User:Tidepod 08:47 AM, 5 June 2024 (UTC+2)
  5. Support My backup if ACAT ever fails. I also like on how it lines up with the AVID name as how it ends with "Archive" much like how AVID ends with "Database". 08:41, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  6. Support I used to like the ACAT name for a while but now that I think more about it OSCA makes a bit more sense, as openings and closings are the most crucial part of the new wiki. TheNintendoGuy9009 (talk) 09:40, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  7. Support per everyone + OSCA > ACAT imo | (lets play football) 13:00, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  8. Support ACAT never struck it with me. I've always liked OSCA better. Not only is the acronym not based on a random word, but it just feels like a more pleasant name in my opinion. Compooper (talk) 13:21, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  9. Support This is the perfect blend of an acronym that rolls off the tongue, an acronym that makes sense, and the fact the acronym spells out what the project is in a clear and concise manner. No offense to ACAT but I just never gelled with it, so OSCA it is for me FryLetterman (talk) 14:13, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  10. Support (USER TALK!) 15:10, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  11. Support Best one. I heard Trevor on Discord say that if they use ACAT, it might be confusing to other things. (TALKCONTRIBUTIONS) 15:47, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
    • I actually pointed out that ACAT is being used by multiple other companies not unlike AVID, which is a benefit compared to if we used something like the DCAT name that was floated (which is used by a major pharmaceutical company) because it's not too specific to any one company. · Talk · Edits 17:49, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  12. Support Tortuga Tonta Prods. (AKA Mr. Vadimon) (Formerly TPatKB) (this is my, yes, MY talk page) 16:14, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

  14. Support That sounds like a good idea. --AUnnamedDragon 1:41 PM, June 5, 2024 (CET)
  15. Support Gets the most support. May edit it when it opens. An entire wiki about opening and closing sequences of shows is interesting. Rainbow Puppy (talk) 05:52, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

  1.  Comment: Okay, if the name is approved, will there also be an RfC for a competition for a new logo for this new wiki? (Similar as was done for the AVID logo in 2022) Tortuga Tonta Prods. (AKA Mr. Vadimon) (Formerly TPatKB) (this is my, yes, MY talk page) 16:14, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
I'd assume either that, or we could possibly base it off of the AVID logo. Doctorine Dark (talk) 16:22, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
We are doing a logo competition once this is done. · Talk · Edits 17:42, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Oppose

  1. Oppose I don't feel like this captures the scope of the wiki, as not every title card or credit sequence is 'animated' per se. EMG/Ram (She/They) (Let's Chat!) 06:19, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
  2. Oppose similar to EMG's statement, the "Animation" part of the title is out-of-place, as live-action shows and movies don't have animated sections. | (lets play football) 13:00, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
