AVID:Requests for Comment/tidying up the section list

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Since the CB content got moved here, the sidebar has gotten out of hand IMO. The "explore" list is really long and contains sections that haven't even been populated yet (plus I'm kind of running out of FontAwesome icons to use XD). I have three proposals to streamline the list:

  • Merge Warning Screens, VCR Control Bumpers, Laserdisc bumpers, Feature Presentation bumpers under a new section called "Home Video Bumpers"
  • Merge Breakbumpers, coming up bumpers and modified screens under a new section called "TV Bumpers"
  • Merge Console startups, mobile bootscreens and desktop bootscreens under a new section called "Startups and Bootscreens"

These are not mutually exclusive options. Ideally, I'd like to see all three done. In all cases, I am seeking to create new umbrella portal pages for each of the new sections with links to the relevant existing portals, so as to declutter the sidebar and other relevant areas. I do not intend to remove or merge the categories themselves. Talk · Edits 03:43, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
