I'm back again after almost a month and I have improved a lot! I haven't behaved badly in the past month and I only made one mistake. That mistake was reporting Dominicmgm whis was an unfortunate mishap as I legitimately didn't know that YouTubers with over 1 million subscribers are now allowed on the wiki. Dominicmgm, if you reading this, I'm sorry. But other than that, I have been good and I even split 3 pages that haven't been split. I have separated BBC Video and BBC Home Entertainment from BBC Studios Home Entertainment, WGBH Kids from GBH Kids, and ABC Video from ABC DVD. I apologise again for the mistake I made reporting Dominicmgm and I hope I succeed this time! I'll promise I'll never use these powers to block my 'rivals'. The reason why I want to become a moderator is to help block socks and vandals and to warn users that have broken the rules. You know third time's the charm!

That's basically how the Board of Directors fell out of power here, and I really don't think a second Board just like that is in the best interests of AVID. Good job separating those pages though, but I am not really onboard your request. IAmThe789Guy: I did not bring up rivals, I think you're referring to Solarstrike's comment on the previous request.

Anyway, the logic in this request is as superficial as last time. The request is 'I'm trying to be a good user', followed by "I did some good edits", apologies for random incidents, "I swear I won't block my rivals", and then a brief bit that has to do with the actual role. The last sentence was at least relevant but I see nothing that really demonstrates you'd even know how to assess and deal with sockpuppetry, or enforce the rules effectively. In other words I don't see evidence that anything has changed since last request. Adding request after request hoping something will stick isn't a good look. You can start with the red flag: the way you phrased "I won't block my rivals" implying you indeed have rivals... yeah, no. And, "I'm autistic and I'm not perfect" qualifies you for absolutely nothing. The point of this is to highlight what you can offer to the role. All you've done is prove, again, that you don't understand what you're trying to get.

I'd avoid trying to collect hats, and for more than a couple of months this time. This is not a place for people to 'rank up' for the sake of it.--Raidarr (talk) 00:34, 3 April 2023 (UTC)

I've been part of AVID since 2018, and have maintained a steady presence since then. I joined the old server in January 2020, and became promoted to server moderator in September that year, a position I have retained in the new AVID server. I've been one of the most level-headed people there, banning sockpuppets, spammers, wannabe raiders, and sick degenerates (too many to count) since the promotion to server mod, and while I might not be the most active on the wiki (I do keep tabs on what happens here), I do still retain my no nonsense level-headed attitude and I feel like I'm ready to take the next step in helping this wiki improve and be protected against vandals and the like. Hopefully WF edits still count since I know I passed well over 250 edits there alone

I'm having another shot at becoming a Mod and this time I have a real reason. My reason for becoming a Mod is that I want to help the wiki and the wiki's staff be helping block bad users, so I can play my part in helping fight vandalism and sockpuppetry. I have been dreaming of joining this wiki's staff and this is my first step towards fulfilling my dream of becoming an Admin. I have the time and effort to help this wiki and I will promise that I will fulfil my promise of helping fight vandalism and sockpuppetry by helping the rest of the wiki's staff by blocking and warning users breaking the rules. I do admit to being a bit toxic on RfCs and featured image nominations but after I got warned I have learned my lesson and I have been behaving better on RfCs and featured nominations. I'm sorry for all the mistakes I made on this wiki in the almost two years I have been on here and I'm ready to become a Mod so I can help run this wiki! I promise I will never use these powers to block my 'Rivals'.

Hello, I'm Nova. I initially joined AVID in 2020, but I wasn't... wise... to say the least.

When I got back to editing in April 2022, I had matured significantly, and had made some significant contributions, such as:

• Suggesting the Legacy section
• Adding the 1998 Nikkatsu Corporation logo
• Debunking the existence of the supposed Central Park Media "Early Skyline" logo

and so on.
I feel that I should become a moderator, given that I could help new editors learn the basics, and help keep things under control whenever I can.

This is how I would handle things as a moderator, and all of this is what I would consider the suitable abilities of a moderator.

Hey guys, EMG here.

I've been an active member of AVID since 2017, and with this community having done so much for me, I feel like it's time for me to give back. As such, I'm officially applying for the Moderator role. While I may not be the most active on the site, I find that this is because much of what needs to be done is already being sorted out. Much of what I do has been helping the site staff on the Discord server. With moderator permissions, I see myself being able to move some of my work back to the site, helping the admins out more directly. Now, I'm sure there are some skeptics, citing my less than amazing behaviour in the past as a reason to not elect me, but I assure you, and members of the Discord server can concur, that I am working on myself, and I've become far better on this front. I'm continuing to work to better myself, and hope that my past doesn't affect my chances of joining the AVID staff. With this in mind, I see myself as a great fit for the moderator role.

Hi, my name is Luke2505 and while I've only had this Miraheze account since September 2022, I've been on the Wiki since 2016 when I first registered on the Wikifoundry site.

In recent months I have taken on the role of Administrator on the AVID Discord Server and have proven myself as an effective member of the staff team, being able to moderate members in a fair manner while keeping myself down to earth with the community.

While I do not create new pages on the Wiki, I often contribute to the Wiki through uploading high quality logo captures, making sure files follow the correct file naming system and working on more niche pages so that they have the "big page" treatment. I also plan to hope to improve the user experience on this site going forward making it an enjoyable and safe space for everyone.

I think I could have this because: I have over 250 edits, I have only been warned once, and I helped the admins when THE PARKEE IS BACK sent a death threat to IAmThe789Guy, by telling them about it. I know I am just over the age restriction, but I still think I can do this. I know I will never get to the admin stage, but this is a first. If you turn me into a Mod, I won't let you down.    Ideally, you need to feel as if you are competent in your ability as a moderator before you apply. You managed to do one good thing - which was reporting to the admins when the Parkee incident went down - so this is already a good step in the right direction. Make sure you do more stuff like that in the future as well as contributing to the content of the site itself.

   The key here is building a record of positive action. Something you can point to without any single incident being important because they all build you up. You know that on the RfC I said that I will not become a moderator, but I changed my mind and now I'm applying! You know that I have created some bad RfCs which were either a BIG mistake or an idea that I thought was good but you thought was bad. Also, I have reported a couple of users that have broken the rules and notified everyone about a fake video on the forums. I'm 15 and autistic so this may be a big role for me to take but I want to give it a crack and see how I can manage to have this new role! I have been on this wiki since April 20, 2021, and have done 399 edits according to Special:Editcount and this will be number 400. (Special:CentralAuth says 410 edits as that counts edits on deleted articles unlike Special:Editcount). So do you think I have what it takes to be a moderator? The reason why I want to become a mod is because I want to get my first shot at becoming a staff member before I reach 1000 edits to reach my goal of becoming an admin. I'm prepared to become a mod and I have been wanting to join the wiki's staff for most of the time I have been here!

  Your reason provided to become a moderator is because you wanna be staff so it helps you get the admin hat. I wanna be staff so I can be staff and become higher staff isn't how it works. I would not suggest applying until you get clear reasons that pertain to the responsibility of the role. I do not think you have what it takes to be a moderator because you don't seem to know what it is about. But to testify against you, you have an incredibly toxic attitude towards RfCs you oppose and can be aggressive towards some people (especially towards people you don't like); and I hold a strong feeling you'll take advantage of your new-found powers to take out your "rivals" - in short, going against what the community stands for. You also show an incredible lack of self-awareness of mistakes, and show little desire to change your thinking or your methods - it always has to be pointed out. Ever since April of last year, I have made thousands of contributions to the wiki, whether it would be my efforts in expanding smaller pages or clean up generally incomplete articles. Considering I make several edits per day, I am an extremely active player in not just adding pages and relevant images, among other good faith edits, but also dealing with policy-breakers such as reminding them about the rules and immediately responding to sockpuppeteers on the spot. Some of my investigative characteristics on connecting likely socks to previously blocked users have greatly helped the wiki in stopping unsuspected sockpuppeteers such as Prodigy012 and Jacknorrisbelike. I believe this, alongside my immediate approach to other staff-exclusive tasks (page deletions, RFC closures, etc.) and cleanup abilities, will benefit the administration here on the site, combined with a calm and courteous personality towards fellow users.

I have been editing on the wiki for more than two years (I've been here since July 2020) and I have amassed over 1000 edits (though I can no longer see how many edits I've done now). I know it is a big responsibility for me, but I know my way around the site, and if I were to get the rights, I would be able to warn users over mistakes and block any suspected sockpuppets. I know we have a lot of admins at this point, but I could help out if other admins can't provide help at any given moment.

Now, this is a possibility I have tinkered with for a long, long time - about seven months ago was when I first thought of applying for this position, but I quickly threw it out, due to me not considering myself active or ready enough for the duties being an administrator comes with. Seven months have passed, and only now, roughly a month after the original Board left and came new bureaucrats (not elaborating more), do I think I'm confident enough to apply.

I admire the direction the Database is heading in right now, and I'd love to contribute more to it, to really be involved in its ecosystem. I'm also available in the European afternoon timeslot - I live in Hungary -, which is when it's still the morning in America, while it's already night in Australia (talking to you, Hb and Hibiscus, no offense). I'm not saying THAT is the strongest reaaon for my application, but it's pretty obvious. And although I'm expected to start factory work soon, I still expect myself to at least come here daily and participate in wiki activities.

Hello, I'm Compooper, formerly known as IfYouDareThenPizzaIt. I've been an editor on the wiki for about two and a half years now (since the start of the Miraheze wiki), and I have put in a LOT of hard work to get to where I am now. I've been editing constructively and in good faith, and while my attitude has been a little iffy over the past few months, I know I can continue to work on it and learn from my mistakes, especially when I am about to be working as an Administrator.

With that aside, I've done a large amount of changes to many articles to get it to current formatting standards. I've also combatted against vandals and trolls if I have the chance by undoing edits and suggesting page/file deletions. I've done a lot of constructive changes to the wiki's overall look and feel. I have nearly 2000 edits on this wiki, and with the work I've done recently, I feel I qualify to be an administrator.

Even if I may be busy with school-related activities, I hope this is enough for this to happen.

Wasn't this quite a ride? As a bit of background, prior to this huge round of drama that started with me and a few other admins being briefly demoted before Agent Isai of Miraheze's stewards stepped in, I was promoted to admin by Miraheze stewards in the absence of the Board of Directors after my Request for Adminship proved successful, this also being in the wake of a growing sockpuppet and other troublesome user problem. I've always wanted to join the admin team of the wiki to help out with these areas, and I have always dreamed of helping this wiki along in becoming a more welcoming and accepting place for editors who'll be able to have a say in the direction that this wiki goes, whether it be rule changes, rebrands, you name it, and not the oligarchic state the BoD brought that imposed rules on this community with no prior public communication with this wiki's community and also effectively attempted to censor any criticism of these decisions. I admittedly may not be proficient in the more techy side of MediaWiki, but I'm still hoping that I'll be able to help pull this wiki out of the state that it's been in under the BoD and help make this community feel safe and welcomed. Welp, I'm coming to the conclusion that I should probably get my somewhat-deserved promotion here after the falling out we got. I come in to improve pages, am usually somewhat active on the wiki, and had several years underneath my belt as a moderator of the original site, so I feel like I have got what it takes to become a bureaucrat and help keep this site together when needed.

Wowee. This whole thing happened on my birthday, and I wasn't even awake to see it unfold. I just looked on the old wiki server and found that the BoD were gone and that ENunn had rebranded it as his own personal server. I then decided to make a new one and with the help of a few others, the server was pretty much identical to the old one. I'd like to become a bureaucrat as I want to help the wiki back up on it's feet and thrive once again, free of the toxic and restricting BoD. CooleyBoy10 has been an admin here for a long period of time. His time at the wiki, however, has been marred by some recent wrongdoings that have come to light. We recently found out that he had lied to a Steward about his a block he delivered to a user, along with many more unnecessarily harsh blocks without giving warnings. However, through Ethan, we were able to contact him, and he has stated he wishes to retire. With this RFR, I'd like to acknowledge that he has done wrong, but wish to give him a peaceful send off, and to thank him for his service to the wiki.
