Audiovisual Identity Database:User Reports/Intro

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum
This is the template for the top section of CLG Wiki:User Reports. Please do not place reports on this page
CLG Wiki:User Reports
Shortcut:
BEFORE REPORTING, PLEASE READ THE POLICY AND RULES FIRST. THANK YOU!

This is the page for reporting active users violating CLG Policy. Use the following code to report users. Replace anything in bold:

{{subst:Report|User (Just type username, not "User:")|What did they do? Write it here.}}

NOTE: In the "User" space, type the user's name who made the violation, not your username.

Place the code below the heading, "Current reports". Make sure you fill in each field (bolded areas in code), and insert your signature (using ~~~~) in the last field. Then publish it and wait for an administrator to respond to your report. Once answered, your report will be moved to the "Answered reports" section. They will say what action they have taken (if any) below your report.

Finally, please ensure you inform a user that they have been reported by placing {{UserReported|reason for reporting}} on their talk page under a new section.

Example of template

This example uses the user "User".

== User == Talk · Contributions · Deleted contributions · All logs · Block log · Block
Vandalism
Code used: {{subst:Report|User|Vandalism}}

Please ensure that you substitute this template by adding subst: as shown in the syntax above so that our bot will be able to detect your report for archiving

How to comment on a report

Users can comment on a current report to add more information or constructively contest a current report. Comments that violate Miraheze or CLG Policy will result in the user who commented being blocked, and an administrator removing your comment. Please only add constructive comments. Comments should only be added to current reports, not answered reports. Comments must be added using the Comment template, as demonstrated in the example below.

User

Talk · Contributions · Deleted contributions · All logs · Block log · Block
Vandalism

 Comment: I think the user's edits were accidental, they shouldn't be blocked.

The code used for the above Comment template: {{Comment}} I think the user's edits were accidental, they shouldn't be blocked.

Users do not have to be administrators in order to add comments, and the user reported can add constructive comments. Be sure to add your signature using ~~~~ in the second parameter of the template.

How to approve/reject a report (administrators only)

NOTE: Only administrators may approve or reject a report.

Administrators can either approve or reject a report. To approve a report, you must use the Approved template. Place the template directly below the report, like below.

User

Talk · Contributions · Deleted contributions · All logs · Block log · Block
Vandalism

User blocked for 2 months.

For rejecting the report, the Rejected template should be used. Formatting is exactly the same for rejecting as it is for approving.

User

Talk · Contributions · Deleted contributions · All logs · Block log · Block
Vandalism

 No evidence of vandalism found.

Code used for Approved template: {{Approved|User blocked for 2 months.}}
Code used for Rejected template: {{Rejected|No evidence of vandalism found.}}

Once you have responded to the report and the section has been inactive for a few days, move it to the archive. If you've approved the report, please be sure to visit the user in question's talk page and leave a warning or a block notice.

If you are the administrator who has been reported by a troll, immediately reject the report about yourself and block the user.

Global Policy Matters

In more severe cases involving cross-wiki issues or serious violations of Global Policy, matters may be referred to Miraheze stewards. If you or another user has had personal information leaked on-wiki (doxxing), please refer your report directly to Stewards for suppression by following the instructions here.
