1st Warning (1983?-1990)

Warning: On the top of the screen, we see a red stripe with a white border and the word "ADVERTÊNCIA" inside. The following text scrolls up from the bottom of the screen:

'O TITULAR DO DIREITO AUTORAL DA OBRA CINEMATOGRÁFICA, INCLUINDO SUA TRILHA SONORA CONTIDA NESTE VIDEOCASSETE. SOMENTE AUTORIZOU SEU USO PRIVADO E DOMÉSTICO. SEM PREVIA E EXPRESSA AUTORIZAÇÃO DO TITULAR, ESTÃO PROIBIDAS QUAISQUER OUTRAS FORMAS DE UTILIZACÃO, TAIS COMO COPIAR, EDITAR, ADICIONAR, REDUZIR, EXIBIR OU DIFUNDIR PUBLICAMENTE, EMITIR OU TRANSMITIR POR RADIODIFUSÃO, CABO O QUALQUER OUTRO MEIO DE COMUNICÃO JÁ EXISTENTE OU QUE VENHA A SER CRIADO: BEM COMO TROCAR, EMPRESTAR, ALUGAR OU PRATICAR QUALQUER ATO DE COMERCIALIZACÃO DE LUCRO DIRETO OU INDIRETO. WITHOUT PRIOR AND EXPRESS AUTHORIZATION OF THE HOLDER, ANY OTHER WAYS OF USE, SUCH AS COPYING, EDITING, ADDING, REDUCING, DISPLAYING OR PUBLICLY BROADCASTING, EMITTING OR TRANSMITTING ANYTHING, ANYONE WHO WILL ANYONE WILL EXPERIENCE WITH ANYONE WHO WILL HAVE ANYONE WHO WILL HAVE ANYTHING OTHERWISE, ANYWHERE BE CREATED: AS WELL AS EXCHANGE, LOAN, RENT OR PRACTICE ANY ACT OF COMMERCIALIZATION OF DIRECT OR INDIRECT PROFIT. 2nd Warning (1990-1994)

Warning: On a black background, we see the following text type in:

'ATENÇÃO Esta fita é para uso exclusivo doméstico. É crime fazer cópia para locação ou fazer exibição pública.'

The text scrolls up to make room for the following text:

'IMPORTANTE Não seja enganado com fitas piratas. Elas estragam a sua vista, o seu vídeo e o seu prazer.'

Suddenly a screen with the text "EXIJA FITA SELADA" slams down.

Translation: 'ATTENTION: This tape is for domestic use only. It is a crime to make a copy for rental or make a public exhibition. IMPORTANT: Don't be fooled with pirated tapes. They spoil your view, your video and your pleasure. DEMAND A SEALED TAPE'

Technique:The text typing and scrolling.

Music/Sounds: A typewriter sound effect as the text types itself in, a loud thud when the second screen appears and an announcer reading the text.

Availability: Rare. Found on Disney tapes such as Cinderella (Cinderela - A Gata Borralheira), as well as Fox Video releases.

3rd Warning (1994-1999)

Warning: On a starry sky background, we see the following text flip in:

'ATENÇÃO! ESTA FITA FOI PRODUZIDA EXCLUSIVAMENTE PARA USO DOMESTICO. A POSSE DE CÓPIA ILEGALÉ CRIME SUJEITO A PENA DE DETENÇÃO.

The text then fades out to make room for the following text:

'ATENÇÃO! AS FITAS ILEGAIS PREJUDICAM SEU VÍDEO E SUA DIVERSÃO. NÃO SEJA ENGANADO COM FITAS PIRATAS. Translation: 'ATTENTION! THIS TAPE WAS PRODUCED FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. ILLEGAL COPYING IS A CRIME SUBJECT TO IMPRISONMENT. ILLEGAL TAPES SPOIL YOUR VIDEO AND YOUR FUN. DON'T BE DECEIVED WITH PIRATE TAPES.'

Technique: The text flipping and fading.

Music/Sounds: A light rock theme, with a shining sound effect when the text flips in.

Availability: Uncommon. Found mostly on Brazilian Disney tapes, but was also found on Warner Home Video releases like The King and I (O Rei e Eu).
