Background

Alliance Releasing was the motion picture division of Alliance Entertainment Corporation. It was probably merged with Alliance in 1991 when it started to do motion picture production itself.

Logo: On a black-blue gradient background with stars, a bright flash with multiple arms emerges from the center, before dying down to bring forth the "ALLIANCE" text from the TV logo. The word is at first an sparkling outline, before a orange lightbar fills it in. The words "RELEASING" appears separated by two lines appear below as the logo shines.

Variant: On a Canadian TV spot for The Gate, it uses the same background as its television counterpart, except that "RELEASING" replaces "ENTERTAINMENT CORPORATION".

FX/SFX: The flash, the logo shining.

Music/Sounds: A synth theme that starts off dark and moody, before having a rising hit and then ending in a flurry of lighter-sounding notes and a 4-note ditty. Sometimes, it's silent.

Availability: Seen on late 80s releases from Canada. It can also be found on Alliance's VHS tapes that were under the Alliance Releasing Home Video label. and distributed by MCA Home Video.
