Background
América Televisión is the oldest commercial television network in Peru, and the highest rated in the country. First founded in 1958, it switched to color in 1978 in time for the Argentina World Cup 1978. In 1992, Televisa acquired 42% of the network. Today it broadcasts its own programs, as well as imports from Televisa in Mexico, Univision in the US, and Telefe in Argentina.

Logo: A TV Tower on a globe centered on the American continents, and the text "Radio" in cursive script and "America TV Canal 4" in block letters. It was known to be a screen logo, but a still screen logo, so there is not much to describe here except for that the logomark itself.
Technique: None or possibly Cel.
Music/Sounds: Joe Reichman's "Moonlight Sonata." This would later become the theme music for the broadcaster itself.
Availability: It was used before the network was even called América Televisión.
Canal Cuatro
(1969-1978)

Logo: The characters C4 in a ligature. Under the logo is the word "TELEVISION". The C4 slides in with a scanimated effect typical of the early seventies.
Variants: The C4 logo in a small tv tube shape and the words "CANAL CUATRO" and "EL CANAL DE LOS GRANDES *ESPECTACULOS* in a ring around it.
Technique: Cel animation, but a later version may use scanimate.
Music/Sounds: Same as before.

1st Logo (1978-1982)

Logo: A spinning wireframe globe appears, followed by the word 'América.' The yellow and red background conforms to the silhouette of the word. The globe flies in, and the word 'televisión' is formed, with the globe taking the place of the ó in 'televisión'.
Technique: Scanimate.
Music/Sounds: A disco tune with an announcer saying "Es el mundo de América Televisión, Canal 4, desde Lima.
2nd Logo (1980-1983)

Logo: On a space background, the wireframe globe in red appears, with a white outline of the Americas impressed on it. The outline of the Americas creates a pulse and the words "américa" and "televisión" appear, The yellow and red background from the 1st logo appears
Variants: A version where the "américa" text zooms in and leaves behind trails where the words "Poder integrador a nivel nacional" appears.
Technique: Scanimate.
Music/Sounds: A remixed version of the Moonlight Sonata by Edd Kalohoff, alternatively the campaign music "Si Llega"
3rd Logo (1983-1990)

Logo: On a space background, the individual red, orange, and yellow sections of the globe come together. The globe becomes a wireframe, separates into smaller globes, and come back together, forming the sections. Inside the center space of the globe, the text "américa televisión" appears. The word "TELERED" in a red-yellow gradient appears and descends to the bottom of the screen where the text "PRIMERA TELERED DEL PERU" appears.
Variants: A longer version describing the "TELERED" system.
Technique: Presumably scanimate.
Music/Sounds: The remix of Moonlight Sonata by Edd Kalohoff, with an announcer.
