Background
Amblimation was Amblin Entertainment's animation unit, active from 1989 until 1997, when it was folded into DreamWorks Animation, and all of the studio's crew members moved to DreamWorks afterwards.
Logo (November 21, 1991-December 22, 1995)
Visuals: On a black background, there is Fievel Mousekewitz (from An American Tail) pushing in a modified version of the Amblin Entertainment logo, only here it reads "AMBLIMATION" in a yellow-red gradient Optima font, from the right. The same "shadow wipe" is on the text while Fievel pushes, and it stops when he stops. He dusts off his hands, and stands next to the logo; his hat falls down his head, but he pushes it back up and then blinks before the logo fades out.
Variants:
- When first seen on An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, the logo animation was rougher and colors oversaturated. Also, Fievel's tail was shown and was thicker. Later on, the logo was revised, and the animation was much more cleaner.
- An open matte version exists on 35mm uncropped film scan prints of An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, and Balto.
Technique: Traditional animation.
Audio: None or the closing theme of the movie.
Availability: Appears at the end of the films, which are: An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, and Balto.
