Background

American Laser Games was a video game company based in Albuquerque, New Mexico that made some notable games like the Mad Dog McCree and Crime Patrol series. It was bought out by Her Interactive and was shut down on 2001.

1st Logo (1980s-1990s?)

Logo: On a black background, a blue box with a red square in the middle of it fades in. Two curvy stripes are drawn over the red square and "AMERICAN" and "GAMES" flash in sliver. "Laser" in a cursive font writes in on the square and it pans to an angle except for the cursive word.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A synth drone throughout followed by whooshes and other sounds. A voice says "American Laser Games" in a whisper followed by a faint guitar chord which get cut off.

Availability: Rare. Not much is seen of this logo.

2nd Logo (1993-1997?)

Logo: A clip from the game (changes every time) appears. After a couple of seconds, a black background, with a right triangle cote-out, zooms out and moves to the right. "MERICAN" in a white Impact/Compacta font along with "LASER GAMES INC." in a smaller font fades in as a row of red-orange lines collides with the triangle and a flash happens, causing the triangle to become white and gain a star cote-out, making an "A" and making the word "AMERICAN" with the aforementioned word.

Technique: 2D animation and live-action.

Music/Sounds: Audio from the clip which is followed by the same music from before.

Availability: Seen on Sega CD ports for their games. They are not seen on any re-releases on other consoles as they are the original PMVs.
