Background

Amity Entertainment was a film and television production and distribution company. It was founded in 2005 in Brentwood, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville, as well as an office in New York City. Its focus was on acquiring motion pictures and children's series. They acquired Tadpole Entertainment, and therefore the US rights to The Big Comfy Couch, shortly after their formation and distributed that show's seventh and final season to the US before filing for bankruptcy on October 13, 2009. Their library eventually was bought up by Image Entertainment on May 4, 2012.
