Background

Anchor Bay Films was the film unit of Anchor Bay Entertainment. It was formed in 2009 and was folded into Lionsgate Films in 2016 upon their purchase of Anchor Bay's parent Starz Media.

Logo (2009-2016)

Visuals: In a stormy part of the sea, the camera moves along a waving sail from various sides, then release and zoom out to reveal a boat sailing on a calm sea surface, all in blue. The sun is on the horizon. The picture turns into the Anchor Bay logo, which resembles an "A" in white and dark blue and 3D-folded, and a lens flare runs over its side. Below are the words

A N C H O R B A Y
F I L M S

with the Starz byline underneath.

Variant: Some films feature a more bluish "A" and the company name tinted yellow.

Technique: CGI by Framework Studio.

Audio: Sail weaving and water sounds.

Availability: Seen on Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, Force of Execution and other films produced by the company.
