Background

This company was created by stand-up comedian Denis Leary in New York City.

1st Logo (March 14, 2001-September 7, 2011)

Visuals: There is live-action footage of the George Washington Bridge in New York City. The sky gets darker, the lights get brighter, and the background starts to be covered with a black rectangle until only the bridge and all the lights are visible. The sky going from bright to dark is sped up. As this happens, the word "A P O S T L E", in a cyan-ish color, pans down until it stops below the rectangle.

Variants:

  • There is a longer version.
  • An in-credit version also exists.
  • An alternate version also exists on the Comedy Central Roast of Denis Leary, where the word "A P O S T L E" is in a different font, with a dot in the "O".

Technique: Time lapse footage mixed with computer animation.

Audio: A quiet, fast drum beat with a low-pitched owl-like sound in between, sometimes longer.

Availability: Seen on The Job, the Comedy Central Roast of Denis Leary, Rescue Me, Shorties Watchin' Shorties, and Canterbury's Law. It was also seen on failed pilots such as Fort Pit, and Can Openers.

2nd Logo (May 3, 2013-September 1, 2016)

Visuals: There is the same part of New York at night from the previous logo, but at a different point of nighttime. The city and the video is sped up because of all the vehicles going by. The word "A P O S T L E" (in the same font from the previous logo's alternate variant, albeit the dot in the letter "O" is absent), this time in white, is above the bridge throughout.

Technique: Live-action.

Audio: An electric guitar note.

Availability: Seen on Maron, Sirens, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, and Benders.
