Background

Channel 3 is a Saudi Arabian television station operated by the Arabian American Oil Company (or ARAMCO for short). It was established on September 16, 1957, broadcasting in both Arabic and English. However, the channel became solely English when the Damman station went on the air in 1970. The station was closed on December 31, 1998.

1st Logo (1982)

Logo: On a white background, there is a black horizontal oval with three outlines of a circle with the middle two spinning on the z-axis. Also spinning is "CHANNEL 3".

Technique: The text and circles spinning.

Music/Sounds: A two note warbling synth jingle.

Availability: Extinct.

2nd Logo (1987-1991)

Logo: On a purple pebble-patterned background, a gold rectangular prism containing "CHANNEL" and a large "3" fly in from the top left and bottom right respectively. As both stopped flying, "CHANNEL" is seen above "3".

Variant: A variant exists where the background is blue and has a different pattern. Additionally, the logo is hot pink.

Technique: CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: An exciting horn fanfare.

Availability: Extinct.
