Background

Aramco Television was a Saudi Arabian television station operated by the Arabian American Oil Company (or ARAMCO for short). It was established on September 16, 1957, broadcasting in both Arabic and English. However, the channel became solely English when the Damman station went on the air in 1970. The station was closed on December 31, 1998.
