Background
Austar was an Australian telecommunications company, originally founded in 1995 as Community Entertainment Television (CETV). Their main service was subscription television, but they were also involved with internet and mobile phone services. In 2012, Foxtel announced that they were acquiring Austar, and in the following year, Foxtel merged all of Austar's services within the former's system.
Logo (February 26-March 19, 2007)
This logo contains an old telephone number. Please do not try to dial it. |
Visuals: On a red light background, multiple transparent 3D stars in yellow are shown flying out from view. Then the camera pans down as the word "AUSTAR" in transparent-looking white is revealed, zooming out and rotating into the top of the screen, while the stars swirl near the top of the text, forming a drawing of a shooting star. The logo fills itself in white, as the yellow glow in front of it dims down. The slogan "you'll love what's on" forms below the logo from another yellow glow. Below the logo, the texts "Call 132 242", and "www.austar.com.au" blur in.
Trivia: This logo uses the same animation from the commercial tag used by Austar during the period, with both the slogan and telephone number still intact.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A portion of the chorus of "Just the Thing" by Paul Mac featuring Peta Morris, the official jingle used by Austar during the period.
Availability: It's only known to have been seen on season 3 episodes of Love My Way.
