Background
BMG Rights Management is an international music label, publisher and distributor that was founded in Berlin, Germany in 2008. The company was formed after Bertelsmann sold its 50% stake in Sony BMG Music Entertainment. In 2013, American investment firm KKR sold its stake in the company to Bertelsmann, making the latter the sole shareholder of the company.
