Background

The company was formed in 2000 by Greg Berlanti and Mickey Liddell. In 2006, Liddell left the company, which resulted a change to the company's name.

Berlanti-Liddell Productions

(September 16, 2002-June 5, 2006)

Logo: We see a dusty dark blue book in a table. The dust is blown off, revealing:

BERLANTI

LIDDELL

PRODUCTIONS

with two motive dots above and below it.

Variant: "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" fades in on the bottom-right.

FX/SFX: The dusts wind-out, all live-action.

Music/Sounds: A 9-note violin strings tune.

Availability: Was seen on Everwood and Jack and Bobby.

Editor's Note: None.

Berlanti Productions

(September 24, 2006- )

Logo: We see a family sitting in a living room watching television (the television set appears to be from the 1960s, similar to RCA New Vista Color TV); the parents are sitting on the couch, and two children sit on the floor. The camera slowly zooms up to the television screen, as a young boy is blocking the TV. He moves his head to the side as the words:

BERLANTI

PRODUCTIONS

in a '70s style font flash on the TV screen.

Variants:

  • The word "Television" was used originally before "Productions" changed it.
  • The still version exists.
  • On the 2013 revival of The Tomorrow People, when Julie Plec joined Berlanti's company, the text reads "BERLANTI/PLEC" instead.
  • Promoting The LEGO Batman Movie, the young boy is replaced with the LEGO version of Batman.
  • On The Mysteries of Laura, the logo is next to the Jeff Rake Productions logo.

FX/SFX: The camera zooming in. Done by New Wave Entertainment.

Music/Sounds: A 9-note harp tune. A voiceover (provided by Greg Berlanti himself) shouts "Greg, move your head!", NBC, ABC, CBS and The CW airings used a voice over and a generic theme.

Music/Sounds Trivia: The soundbite is actually what Berlanti's father used to say to him as a kid, whenever his head blocked the television screen.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • A much more common abridged version exists.
  • On its early years, the voice is high-toned.
  • On The Mysteries of Laura, a sped-up version exists.
  • The LEGO Batman Movie variant has Berlanti saying "Batman, move your head!"

Availability: Common on many shows from the company, such as Brothers and Sisters, No Ordinary Family, Arrow, The Flash and The Mysteries of Laura. The LEGO Batman Movie variant can be seen on the Arrow episode "Bratva", The Legends of Tomorrow episode "Turncoat", The Flash episode "Untouchable", and the Supergirl episode "The Martian Chronicles". Also seen on the short-lived Deception.
