1st Logo (September 19, 1991-April 3, 1998) | 2nd Logo (August 1, 1996-October 21, 1999) | 3rd Logo (July 29, 1999-May 1, 2005) |
1st Logo (September 19, 1991-April 3, 1998)
Visuals: On a black background, there is the same image of the star with a streak from the TV logo appearing via a water ripple effect. Below the star, the text
L I M I T E D
is separated by a line in the same color as the streak. When the water ripple ends, another action is caused above the star by a single water drop. The logo then fades and the word "PRESENTS" appears.
Variant: A still version can be found rolling in closing credits, which is usual for Australian companies.
Technique: Live-action.
Audio: A soft dreamy tune, extended to the "PRESENTS" screen as well.
Availability: Seen on Strictly Ballroom, Hammers Over the Anvil, The Magic Riddle, and probably on Say a Little Prayer. The print version appeared at the end of Kiss or Kill and Heaven's Burning.
2nd Logo (August 1, 1996-October 21, 1999)
Visuals: On a blue background that resembles a portal, a black 3-D rhombus with a faded outline of a star comes flying onto the middle of the screen before stopping. The star emits a gold shine that flashes, turning the rhombus white while a light purple streak flashes in, with sparks being released diagonally across the rhombus and through the star, resembling the previous logo. It then finishes with the star shining. The word "BEYOND" in the same font from before appears below, along with an underline in the same color as the streak.
Variant: A videotaped version exists.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A synth ditty, followed by a long deep synth, a flashing sound, and ending with a majestic fanfare. Composed by Colin Bayley, Kevin Bayley and Murray William Burns.
Availability: Seen on Not 14 Again, Love Serenade, Drive, She Said, Home of the Blizzard, Dead Man's Curve, Crackers, In a Savage Land, and on original prints of Two Hands.
3rd Logo (July 29, 1999-May 1, 2005)
Visuals: The camera moves though space, leaving the Moon and Earth behind, then an explosion of light erupts, emitting a shockwave and the light becomes purple. The shine then moves to the left, turns into the Beyond sign (a black rhombus with a white star inside and an arc) and "BEYOND" unravels to the right, with "FILMS" in small wiped out on the bottom right below.
Variants:
- A still closing version exists.
- Sometimes, the word "FILMS" is absent. This was seen on Chopper for example.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A crystallized chime ending in a short, dense fanfare.
Availability: Seen on When Strangers Appear and A Good Woman. The print version appeared in the closing credits of In a Savage Land, and Chopper. It also plasters the previous logo on current prints of Two Hands.
