Background

Black Label Games was a short-lived publishing label of Vivendi Universal Games, which focused on titles aimed at the more mature gamer, described as "innovative, high-quality titles to satisfy the growing consumer appetite for increasingly sophisticated content."

1st Logo (August 20, 2002)


Logo: The words "BLACK" and "LABEL" are revealed in a beaming blue light. Then, an oval rectangle appears around, and the word "GAMES" in a silver bar. The logo glows and fades away.

FX/SFX: The logo emitting light.

Music/Sounds: Stormy sounds.

Availability: Seen on The Thing.


2nd Logo (September 24, 2002-June 17, 2003)

Logo: A bright blue-toned flash occurs and folds into the name, then another splash forms the oval rectangle around, now colored in gray.

FX/SFX: The logo forming.

Music/Sounds: A harsh wind sound, followed with cork sticking.

Availability: Appears on The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (PlayStation 2/Xbox/Windows), the US Windows release of Enclave, and Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter (PlayStation 2/Xbox/PAL region Windows (US release of Windows version uses the MumboJumbo logo))
