Blackhawk Films was founded in 1927 in Davenport, Iowa. From the 1950s through 1983, marketed motion pictures on 16mm, 8mm and Super 8 film. Most were vintage one or two-reel short subjects, usually comedies starring Laurel and Hardy, Our Gang, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and other famous comedy series of the past.

Visuals: On a black background, there is a person with a feather on the back of their head all in white enclosed in a white circle. There is also "Blackhawk Films" in cursive, with a registered symbol above the "m" and "s", to the right of the head. There is a white line underneath the logo and under the line is the text "THE EASTIN-PHELAN CORPORATION". And finally, below that is the location of the company, "DAVENPORT, IOWA 52808".
