Background
In 1977, following the success of the television movie Roots, writer William Blinn and director Jerry Thorpe established his own production company in 1977, with output agreements with Viacom Productions and ABC to co-produce television movies. The company later broke up in 1981, with Blinn forming his own solo company, Eilenna Productions.
Logo (April 14, 1978-June 10, 1981)
Visuals: On a orange background, we see on the top right is a black shadow with the letters "B" and "T" cut out above and below the shadows. Below it was the text "A Blinn/Thorpe Production" with "In Association With" below on the bottom right side of the logo.
Variants:
- On Heaven Only Knows, the logo itself was on a TV screen.
- Starting in 1980, the logo is on a neon sign on a black background.
Technique: None.
Audio: A guitar theme. Sometimes it's silent or having the end theme playing over.
Availability: The original version was seen on The Lazarus Syndrome, The MacKenzies of Paradise Cove, Heaven Only Knows, A Question of Love, Stickin' Together and Fast Lane Blues. The 1980 version was seen on All God's Children and American Dream. The logo does not appear on Our House or Aaron's Way, because an in-credit disclaimer was used instead.
