DefunctBlockbuster was a video rental store founded on October 19th, 1985. In Dallas Texas. Near the late 2000s - Early 2010s, Blockbuster stores started going out of business and the Blockbuster name soon went defunct. As of now, there is only 1 Blockbuster located in Bend, Oregon. They used to issue some exclusive videocassettes throughout the mid-1990s.

Background

Blockbuster was a video rental store founded on October 19th, 1985. In Dallas Texas. Near the late 2000s - Early 2010s, Blockbuster stores started going out of business and the Blockbuster name soon went defunct. As of now, there is only 1 Blockbuster located in Bend, Oregon. They used to issue some exclusive videocassettes throughout the mid-1990s.

1st (known) Logo (1990s)

Visuals: On a grayish marble background is the Blockbuster Video "ticket" logo. The logo "shines".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen only on Blockbuster Video VHS releases.

2nd Logo (2000)

Visuals: The screen fades to a white-cream background. As the logo fades in the background "dissolves" to reveal a glowing Blockbuster logo against a sky blue background.

Technique: A dissolving effect.

Audio: A synthesized whoosh like noise.

Availability: Only seen on the Blockbuster Customer Service instructional video.
