Background

Bold Films was the production company founded in 2004 by businessman Michel Litvak. In 2006, producer David Lancaster joined the company as co-president. After Lancaster left the company in 2014 to form their production company Rumble Films, Litvak regains control of the company. The company formed a London office in 2015, but it was later closed in 2018.

1st Logo (2005-2009)

2nd Logo (2010-present)

Nickname: "The BOLD Smoke"

Logo: On a black background, the smoke forming the letters with the "B" appears, while the letters "O", "L", and "D" also appearing and then the word "FILMS" appears when the logo completes, then the logo disappears when a splash appears.

Variants:

  • A still version is seen at the end of the films.
  • On Black Box, the word "FILMS" is replaced by "TELEVISION".

FX/SFX: The smoke forming the logo.

Music/Sounds: None or the opening theme of the movie. Original ABC airings of Black Box used a generic theme and voiceover.

Availability: First appeared in the 2010 film Legion (first film to use this logo), and appeared on every film produced like Nightcrawler, Drive, Whiplash, Stronger, Oslo and No Escape among others. The "Television" variant is seen only on the short-lived ABC series Black Box. Don't expect to see the logo in Dominion (the television series based on the film Legion), despite both Litvak and Lancaster serves as executive producers on the series.

Editor's Note: None.
