Not to be confused with Bolder Media.
Background
Boulder Media Limited (also known as simply Boulder Media) is an Irish animation studio that was founded in 2000 by Robert Cullen. It is best known for producing select episodes of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and season 1 of The Amazing World of Gumball for Cartoon Network (the latter being co-produced with Cartoon Network Development Studio Europe), as well as season 2 of Wander Over Yonder and the 2015 reboot of Danger Mouse. In July 2016, Boulder became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hasbro. In 2022, Princess Pictures acquired the company from Hasbro.
1st Logo (2000-2012)
Visuals: At the end of the credits, there is a rectangle that has the top side slanted towards the top-right a bit. On the rectangle are the words "Boulder Media" with the "B", "M", "l" and the "d"s sticking out the top.
Technique: A still, digital graphic.
Audio: The ending theme or silence.
Availability: Shown in one of Boulder Media's early reels, as well as at the end credits of shorts like Carte de Visite (2006) and Beauty Now (2007).
2nd Logo (13 August 2012-5 June 2021)
Visuals: On a gray stone background, there's the "BOULDER MEDIA" appearing in a bordered Blocky font as the stone breaks.
Variant: On Danger Mouse (the 2015 series), the word "MEDIA" is moved to the middle, and the logo is in-credit.
Technique: Possibly 2D animation.
Audio: A wrecking sound.
Availability: First shown on Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja, and has been seen on their productions from the time, like the 2015 Danger Mouse series, the first three seasons of Transformers: Cyberverse (later renamed Transformers: Bumblebee Cyberverse Adventures for seasons 3 and 4), My Little Pony: Pony Life, and the short-lived series Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own. It was last seen on Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy.
3rd Logo (24 September 2021-)
Visuals: On a purple background, there’s a black line drawing in from left to right. It begins to zoom forward, and after a bit of zooming, the line turns upward, revealing a 3D rendition of the Boulder Media logo (as it was seen on the Danger Mouse variant of the previous logo). It then turns up, zooms back a bit, and casts a mirror on the purple floor.
Variants:
- There's a shortened variant.
- On My Little Pony: A New Generation (when the logo appeared for the first time), a green tennis ball (Izzy Moonbow's object from the film) drops in from the right, bumps into the logo, and lands next to it.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: Drawing sounds and a whoosh.
Audio Variant: My Little Pony: A New Generation has the opening theme of the film.
Availability: First seen on the Netflix original film My Little Pony: A New Generation, which marks the start of the fifth incarnation of the franchise, and has appeared on productions from the company ever since, like the company's 2021 showreel, the final season of Transformers: Bumblebee Cyberverse Adventures and Transformers: BotBots.
