Background
Burns & Burns was the production company of Seattle-born producer Bonnie Burns, founded in Los Angeles, California, but headquarted in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Logo (October 30, 1993-April 4, 2004)
Visuals: On a white/gray gradient background, there is the green word "BURNS" in a Charlemagne Bold font (the same font as seen in the Pixar logo). To the right, there is a blue box with an and symbol "&". The word "BURNS" becomes two copies and the "&" box zooms in.
Trivia: Burns served as a manager for Paula Poundstone, who had appeared in Science Court and earlier episodes of Home Movies, hence the company's involvement in either production.
Variants:
- The logo can be on screen for as long as it wants, as seen on My Brother and Me.
- Sometimes, the logo is still.
- On the Home Movies episode, Broken Dreams, the logo is superimposed over a black background with Coach McGuirk running from something.
- Another variant exists with just the text. It was used as a prototype and was seen on at least one episode of Science Court.
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: The ending theme plays over the logo.
Availability: First seen on the ABC series The Paula Poundstone Show and later on TV shows like My Brother and Me, Science Court, and Home Movies (some episodes of the latter remove the logo). Also seen on the stand-up comedy special Paula Poundstone Goes to Harvard.
