C2 Pictures was founded in 1998 by Mario Kassar and Andrew G. Vajna[1], owners of Carolco Pictures, Cinergi Pictures Entertainment, and Seven Arts Pictures (the latter a joint venture between Carolco and New Line Cinema) after those companies either shut down or went bankrupt. The company's first production was the 2002 film I Spy; however, Kassar and Vanja's initial purpose for forming the company was to resurrect the Terminator franchise[2].
