Background

CBC Home Video was a home media division of The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

1st Logo (1985)

Logo: A still image of the logo flips a bunch of times and then slightly stops in the middle on a black background. It consists of a navy blue background that contains a red rectangle with the white 1974-92 CBC symbol above, and the shape as shown on a Betamax tape below. Under it is the text "VIDEO" with a white line over it. The whole logo fades out.

FX/SFX: The flipping and the fading.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Extremely rare.

2nd Logo (1993-2005)

Logo: On a cloudy background, we see ripples forming the CBC logo in silver. Before the logo appears, at the bottom, we see "CBC" and the CBC logo beside it fade in. "Home Video" slides in from the left.

FX/SFX: All CGI.

Music/Sounds: The music from the 1992 CBC bumper, without an announcer.

Availability: Quite rare. Can be seen on some Canadian videotapes as well as DVD titles, including some Royal Canadian Air Farce tapes, as well as The Raccoons: Collector's Edition DVDs.
