Background

CRI Middleware Co., Ltd. (formerly CSK Research Institute Corp.) is a Japanese developer providing middleware for use in the video game industry. From the early nineties, CRI was a video game developer, but shifted focus in 2001. In 2006, CRI Middleware introduced the CRIWARE brand.

Logo (November 10, 2006-)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a round edged square with a blue cube inside it along with the text.

Variants:

  • During the logo's early years, the bottom right corner contained the text "Technology by" followed by the ADX and Sofdec logos
  • Starting with Sonic Origins, the "CRIWARE" text is in a different font.
  • On Sonic Frontiers, the logo shares a splash screen with the InstaLOD, Quixel Megascans and SpeedTree logos.

Availability: Seen on numerous games such as Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and its sequel Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed, and Bayonetta.
