Canal+ Box-Office is a premium cinema channel part of Canal+'s offerings which launched on September 1st 2023. It is the 3rd cinema-themed channel from Canal+ after Canal+ Cinéma and Canal+ Grand Ecran. Launched the same day as the former's rebranding, Canal+ Box-Office showcases well-known movies, in a similar fashion to Grand Ecran. In contrast to the latter's focus on cult classics however, Box-Office focuses on recent movies up to 6 months after their theatrical debut. True to the channel's name, the movies showcased are also box office hits.
1st Logo (2023-)
Logo: We see a prop held above the ground with strings, comprised of a number of multi-colored discs, in multiple angles. In the end, the angle changes so that the discs converge together as one, with the +BOX OFFICE text appearing on the right with a multicolored + before the rest of the text fades in with a multicolored after-image. The text then settles in white.
Variants:
- Each ident showcases the prop in different angles. For more traditional variants, idents exist with either a black or a white background.
- The sign-on is essentially an extended showcase of the prop with both backgrounds and in a number of different angles.
Logo Trivia: The prop bears a striking ressemblance to the main channel's first on-air logo, with the use of multicolored discs.
Technique: Live-action for the prop, CGI for the text's animation.
Music/Sounds: A retro pop theme with a female choir, using synth and beats.
Music/Sounds Variants:
- An extended version is used for the sign-on, with additional piano and violins.
- The main theme is rearranged in different ways for each ident.
Availability: A few idents, a trailer as well as the launch promo and sign-on have been preserved on archival websites.
