Background

Changchun Film Studio (长春电影制片厂) is a Chinese film studio located in Changchun, Jilin.

1st Logo (1950s-1960s)

Visuals: On a black background is the hanzi 長春電影製片厂(Changchun Film Studio) and the copyright year below it.

Technique: A still (possibly hand-painted or printed) graphic.

Audio: The opening theme of the movie, or none.

Availability: Seen on a handful of 1950s Changchun films. Some films used a simple in-credit notice instead though. [Examples?]

2nd Logo (June 1, 1960-196?)

Visuals: There is the same text from before, in a different font and without the year, set upon a marble background. Also exists as an in-credit logo.

Technique: A still (possibly hand-painted or printed) graphic superimposed onto what appears to be a live-action photograph.

Audio: The opening theme of the movie.

Availability: It was seen on its Gevacolor film The Naval Battle of 1894.

3rd Logo (1964-1980s)

Visuals: Again, the text from before, but in Simplified Chinese, minus the tiny Chinese characters underneath and on a black background. The font looks handwritten, which makes this different from the other Changchun logos.

Technique: A still (possibly hand-painted or printed) graphic.

Audio: The opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]

4th Logo (October 24, 1971-February 24, 1972)

Visuals: On a red background, there is a worker-peasant-soldier (gongnong-bing) type statue. The text is below. The statue slowly rotates to the left.

Technique: Live-action model work.

Audio: A proud bombastic fanfare.

Availability: Seen in Sha jia bang and Raid on the White Tiger Regiment.

5th Logo (January 20, 1974)

Visuals: On a sky (or red) background is another worker-peasant-soldier type statue. The company name is below. The statue rotates to the right, but on later films, this logo is still.

Technique: Live-action model work. The later variant is a freeze-frame.

Audio: Same as before.

Availability: Seen in films such as Yan yang tian, Qing song ling, and 'Zhan hong tu.

6th Logo (September 25, 1974-1980)

Visuals: There is a worker-peasant-soldier statue over a background (either red, green, or blue). The company name is below. This logo is still.

Technique: A live-action photograph, cut out and laid on a cel sheet.

Audio: Same as before.

Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]

7th Logo (1980-2000's)

Visuals: Superimposed over the live-action background, there is a Chinese text from the 1960s logo, which is in a different font.

Technique: A still and superimposed (possibly hand-painted or printed) graphic.

Audio: The opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]
