Background

Shortly after VCI and BBC Video merged to form 2 Entertain, Channel 4 ended their partnership with VCI and began self-distributing their DVD releases.

1st Logo (2005-2013)


Visuals: Just one of the 2004 Channel 4 stings without any video indicator.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]


2nd Logo (2013-2016)


Visuals: We see pieces of the Channel 4 logo (with footage from the 2004 idents in them) form together on a gray background, with the complete result forming the logo with the left block replaced with "DVD". The logo then rotates.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A tribal theme with a clang at the end.

Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]

Final Note

As of 2016, Channel 4 licenses its DVD and Blu-Ray releases to Dazzler Media, Acorn Media, among other companies.
