Background

In 1996, FilmFour International changed its name to Channel Four Films for a short time.

Logo (May 24, 1996-May 18, 1999)

Visuals: On a dark background, filled with greenish sun blinks is the white text "CHANNEL FOUR FILMS" slowly zooming in. Then, the left side of a big "4" zooms from beyond and takes "FOUR" inside, making it black. The number is made from two bars and a dot.

Variants:

  • A shortened version exists, which is seen on Brassed Off.
  • On Bent, the logo has a orange tint.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A dark ambient soundtrack with ascending booming near to the end.

Availability:

  • Seen on Brassed Off, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Secrets & Lies.
  • It was also originally seen on the 1998 film Croupier, but subsequent releases (even the earlier DVD releases) plaster it with the Film4 logos instead.
  • It was also seen again on the VHS release of Bent in 1999.
