Background
Chris Bearde Productions was an independent production company by Chris Bearde; known for co-creating and co-producing The Gong Show with game show producer Chuck Barris.
1st Logo (September 15, 1984-1986?)
Logo: As the credits of the show fly away, a red sun rises on a dark background with stars on top and a brown grid. Then, the text
CHRIS BEARDE
Productions
zooms in from the sun and onto the grid.
Technique: The sun rising and the text zooming in. Typical 1980's design.
Music/Sounds: The end title theme from the show.
Availability: Extinct. Appeared on early episodes of Puttin' on the Hits and its spin-off Puttin' on the Kids.
2nd Logo (1986?-September 15, 1989)
Logo: The credits from Puttin' on the Hits or The New Gong Show flip away, revealing a drawing of a brown plain with a mountain in the center, not too soon after that, a silver boomerang suddenly appears, flying around, eventually revealing this text:
CHRIS BEARDE
Productions
which shines.
Technique: The credits flipping away, the boomerang, the text being revealed, and the shining.
Music/Sounds: A series of whooshes as the boomerang flies around, followed by a "gliss" sound after the name is revealed.
Availability: Extinct. Appeared on Puttin' on the Hits and The New Gong Show and the 1987-88 version of Truth or Consequences.
3rd Logo (July 16-December 31, 1995)
Logo: We see the name "CHRIS BEARDE PRODUCTIONS" flying in from the right with the name "CHRIS BEARDE" in goldish-yellow color and the word "PRODUCTIONS" in a white font on top of a blue code-out bar, all on top of a light-blue scratchy background.
Technique: The logo flying in.
Music/Sounds: The end title theme from the show.
Availability: Extinct. Seen on the first season of Sherman Oaks.
4th Logo (June 16, 1996-January 12, 1997)
Logo: On a gold marble background, we see the names "Chris" and "Bearde" in a bold font slide in from opposite sides, with parallelograms next to each name. Then, the word "productions" appears by zooming outward below.
Technique: The texts appearing.
Music/Sounds: The end title theme from the show.
Availability: Extinct. Seen on the second season of Sherman Oaks.
