Background

The Colombian Institute of Culture (known in Spanish as Instituto Colombiano de Cultura, commonly shortened to Colcultura) was a government agency created on June 10, 1968, as a way to manage cultural heritage and to expand its reach through various means, including television programs starting in the 1980s with Inravision and Audiovisuales. The agency would be phased out and replaced with the Ministry of Culture in 1997.

1st Logo (1983?-1991?)

Visuals: On a dark grey background, 2 grey squares are seen stretching towards the center of the screen, before the bottom one flips into full view with a "wraparound perspective" effect. On the square itself, an embossed abstract owl shape is seen, possibly of a crested owl, with plumage represented by triangles and a cote-out belly. From the top down, it wipes to a burnt orange version of the owl on a grey gradient background. The owl then zooms out to make room for "Colcultura" to fade in below, colored white with a black shadow effect. After a few seconds, the byline "Inravision - Audiovisuales" fades in below.

Trivia: The logo was designed by Carlos Duque.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A 4-note low synth with the last note held until the ending, with a sparkling synth pad later, a dramatic 2-note synth, then other synths which filter out.

Availability: Seen at the end of Colcultura programming during the time period.

2nd Logo (1991?-1997)

Visuals: On a grey background, a almost invisible square, only signified by its shadow, zooms in as it starts to fold itself in half, forming a red triangle. This process repeats twice as it forms 2 smaller triangles, and then turn into 3D versions of themselves as the camera quickly swerves to the right to reveal the rest of the now-red owl. The triangles form part of its belly plummage and, while missing its eyes at first, the owl gains them as the camera swerves back to bring the owl into full frame. 10 upside-down white triangles then flip and grow into place to form the plummage of the owl, and from left-to-right, the triangles fly down to form "Colcultura" letter-by-letter. Once the triangles form the entire word, it shines with a diagonal bar of grey light.

Variant: At the end of shows, a short variant is used, starting with the white triangles forming the text.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A synth theme with a pitter-patter tapping sound that ends with a C-note drone (like the previous logo), some descending dripping sounds, and a female announcer saying in Spanish, "Colcultura presents..."

Audio Variant: During the short version, apart from the shortened music, the female announcer says in Spanish, "Colcultura has brought you the following program."

Availability: Seen on later programming from Colcultura like Ramiro, Presente y Futuro and Life Poetry. The long version was seen at the beginning of said shows.
