Background

Color Force was founded in 2007 by producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson. It is named after the actual color force itself in quantum physics, which is an invisible force that binds opposing elementary particles together. The company did not use a logo until 2012.

1st Logo (March 23, 2012-)

Visuals: On a black background, the letters that make up the company name, rendered in 3D, converge at the center of the screen. A bright flash occurs, forming a zig-zag line shape (in a similar vein to the Ulster Television/UTV logo), and the words "COLOR" and "FORCE" on either side of the shape. As the logo slowly zooms in, the far right side of the shape shines brightly, then subdues at the top-right corner of the shape.

Variant: A short version exists on TV shows.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A synth drone with whooshes or the opening/closing theme of the film/show.

Availability: Seen on The Hunger Games films, Crazy Rich Asians, The Goldfinch, Ben Is Back, and All Day and a Night. Also seen on American Crime Story, Pose, and Y: The Last Man. This does not appear on the Diary of a Wimpy Kid films.

2nd Logo (September 17, 2024-)

Visuals: On a white background, the line-shape from before in a solid grayscale format is in between "COLOR" and "FORCE", both in tall black fonts.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: The logo is seen on American Sports Story.
